INTRODUCTION TO BUDDHISM

We invite you to the upcoming talk from a series of meetings, which are to explain the basics of Buddhism. The programme is based on Gampopa’s text “The Jewel Ornament of Liberation - Holy Dharma which is like a Wish-fulfilling Gem.” The text includes basic definitions and introduces Buddhist practice, by presenting the teachings on Boddhisattva path from a beginner stage till Buddahood. The gradual path is described from the point of view of the Third Turning of the Wheel of Dharma or the teachings on the intrinsic Buddha nature.

The talks are offered by long-time practitioners from the Cracow Sangha. They completed strict studies of Gampopa's text while Studying Classic Buddhist Texts at Benchen Karma Kamtsang Grabnik, led by Lama Rinchen from September 2012 to April 2014. Additional explanations were given by Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche during special audiences in the monastery in Nepal.

Gampopa was the heart son of jogi Milapera. He is considered to be the founder of Dakpo Kagyu lineage, because he integrated the teachings of the Kadampa gradual path with the ultimate teachings of the immediate path of Mahamudra.

For those who haven't met these teachings before, it is a chance to build a solid foundations for the practice. Others will be able to organize their current knowledge and deepen their understanding. The talks are open to everyone, so that one can participate in any chosen lecture.
